Peer review procedure

EDP Sciences is set up to the model of the Anglo-Saxon university presses, which means that all our publications are peer-reviewed. This guarantees the quality of our publications and we therefore regularly appeal to French and foreign scholars.

The procedure is as follows:

• A manuscript that qualifies for publication by EDP Sciences, is forwarded by the publisher to two external peer reviewers. We then approach these external peer reviewers to write a peer review report.

• If these two reviews share the same opinion, this opinion will be presented for agreement to the publishing editor. But If EDP Sciences receives only one review, with either a positive of a negative advice, or if the reviewers have different opinions, the manuscript will be sent to a third external peer reviewer.

External peer reviewers are not remunerated for their report.
